Wobble Frog
My mother loves frogs. They can occasionally be sighted jumping across a shelf, leaping onto a mantelpiece and hopping across the centre table that fronts her hallway. I felt she needed one more to sit on the kitchen counter and make her smile first thing in the morning!
I built Wobble Frog from old, weathered driftwood — selecting gnarled and knobbly pieces that mimic a toad’s skin. He’s balanced on a 15 cm disc of marine-grade, recycled stainless steel, treated with a verdigris finish that gives a nice greenish pop against the warm tones of the wood.
All in all I’ve made 25 wobble frogs each tasked with one goal; to raise a grin from those around him.
