The Maquette of Mercury

The Maquette of Mercury is a smaller-scale study of the full-size Mercury sculpture, capturing the horse in an energetic running pose. The compact form retains the sense of movement and balance of the larger work, with layered driftwood defining the body, mane and tail while the recycled stainless steel armature provides the internal structure.
