Octopus
Wobble Octopiccolo and Octopud are two individual driftwood sculptures by James Doran-Webb, presented together as part of Winter Journal 2026.
Wobble Octopiccolo
Wobble Octopiccolo takes the same subject into a much smaller, more compact form. Its rounded body sits above the wobble base while the tentacles gather and curl around it, giving the sculpture an upright character and a distinctly different silhouette from the larger Octopud.

Octopud
Octopud rises from a spread of curling tentacles, its head lifted above the twisting forms beneath it. The driftwood builds a rough, layered surface across the body, while the tentacles reach and coil in different directions, giving the sculpture a strong sense of movement even at rest.
