Blue Skies Crystal Stream
An osprey explodes skyward, salmon in its grasp — a moment of wild triumph captured in driftwood, recycled stainless steel and glass.
Balanced atop 75 layers of thick, hand-cut glass, the 80 kilos of bird has a rigourous armature made from recycled marine grade stainless steel that attaches to a Salmon made from the same material.
Water courses up through a central spine in the glass plinth; the interaction of light, water and glass offer a lightness to the sculpture that supports the movement of the raptor as he beats his way skyward with his catch.
